The Family
Systems link is a list server set up to provide a way for people to
discuss family issues via e-mail. It is an informal e-mail discussion group (listserv) about family relationship issues. Everybody has them, whether it be spouse, children, parents,
grandparents. As the late Edwin Friedman, author of "Generation to Generation," the authoritative resource upon which this discussion is based, says "Nobody gets the problem they
can handle." Helpful and provocative comments are provided by Jack Shitama, who has studied and taught about the Family Systems approach for over a decade. To subscribe click on the Family Systems link at the beginning of this article and send an empty email to the link listed.

Congo Mission Charge Ministry Deb Alexander - 410-620-9506 Email
brneyedvirgo@yahoo.com
Our churches, together with United Methodist churches throughout our
Conference, provide support to this United Methodist ministry in
Kinshasha, the capital of the Congo. An orphanage, a medical clinic, and
a feeding ministry (Mpasa). All provide aid to refugees affected by this
war torn region. Periodic supply drives are conducted, and the most
efficient way to support this ministry is to give financial support.

DOCTORS, NURSES and ANESTHESIOLOGISTS
You are needed for a Mission to the Congo
On October 7, 2007 the Peninsula- Delaware Conference is sending a
medical mission to the Democratic Republic of the Congo. This will be a
two week trip to the interior to bring eye treatment to people, many of
whom will walk for two weeks to get there. This is a three pronged
mission. One doctor and a nurse will do triage, diagnosing the patient's
eye problem. Patients will then be sent to another location for eye
glasses, medical treatment, or eye surgery. We will have an optometrist
and 5 trained volunteers to test eyes and fit glasses. Two nurses with
experience (or to be trained) in treating eye disease will be at a second
location. Eye surgery will be performed at the third location by an eye
surgeon, two nurses and an anesthesiologist. We will be in a town that has
a doctor who will be able to give follow up care to those who need it.
Please consider joining us. The people of the Congo need your talents and
expertise. For more information or to volunteer please call- Judith
Ingalls MT (ASCP) 302-798-2958.
